"To sing from the heart is probably the most direct form of communication, probably one of the most direct forms of self expression that you can do. Unlike playing a musical instrument or having a paintbrush in your hand or anything that interferes with what you really feel inside - singing just lets it straight out. And when I'm really singing from the heart I feel like I'm not even interpreting the lyrics verbatim. What I'm really doing is saying 'This is me. This is what I feel inside and this is what I believe in! '

"Von Herzen zu singen ist wahrscheinlich die direkteste Form von Kommunikation, wahrscheinlich die direkteste Art von Selbstausdruck überhaupt. Anders als beim Spielen eines Musikinstrumentes oder Malen mit einem Pinsel in der Hand oder irgendetwas, was sich vermischt mit dem was Du wirklich in Dir fühlst - beim Singen läßt Du es einfach geradewegs heraus. Und wenn ich wirklich von Herzen singe, dann fühlt es sich so an, als ob ich nicht mal den Text an sich interpretiere. Was ich eigentlich tue, was ich eigentlich sage ist: 'Das bin ich. Das ist es, was ich tief in mir fühle und das ist woran ich glaube.'
